Abstract
I will introduce the Institute of Theoretical Physics and Astronomy of Vilnius University (ITPA VU) and Astrophysical research projects. I will address the flowing topics in the presentation:
1. Scientific infrastructure of Molėtai Astronomical Observatory and possibility to apply for observing time.
2. Our interest in carbon, nitrogen, oxygen abundances of red giant stars and how it helps to understand stellar chemical evolution.
3. Studies on chemical composition trends of Galactic substructures and their implications to Galactic chemical evolution modeling.
4. Spectroscopic and photometric analysis of PLATO northern fields that will be used for the upcoming space mission.
