Abstract
High resolution NIR spectrographs have played an important role in the detection and characterization of exoplanet atmospheres. Throughout my PhD I have tried two techniques to extract the faint blended spectra of Brown Dwarf companions in CRIRES data. I will present the two techniques attempted, direct subtraction and chi squared synthethic recovery, discuss some of their limitiations and highlight the main reasons for the unsuccessful detections.
