JWST master class workshop14-15 May 2020, Porto, PortugalThe first cycle for proposals for the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) is now open (submission deadline no earlier than May 27th 2020). In preparation to this event, we are organising a dedicated workshop with the intention of familiarising the local scientific community with the JWST observational capabilities and all the necessary planning tools for proposal submission.
The workshop is being organised by the Instituto de Astronomia e Ciências do Espaço, with the coordination of the European Space Agency (ESA), and it will be held at Centro de Astrofísica da Universidade do Porto. Registration is limited to a maximum of 25 participants (no registration fee required), so we encourage interested researchers and students to register as soon as possible.
The JWST provides a variety of observing modes which the observer can chose from depending on their target(s) and scientific goals. Therefore, we kindly request the participants to select their preferred observing modes during the registration process. More information regarding observing modes can be found here:
