Biographic Notes
Pedro Palmeirim is a researcher at IA. He was awarded a first degree in Geographic Engineering by the University of Lisbon in 2007, a Master degree in Astronomy and Astrophysics by the University of Lisbon in 2009 and a PhD by the University of Paris Diderot 7 in 2014. He is a member of IA since 2016.

Pedro Palmeirim is a researcher in Astrophysics working on the field of star-formation. His interests cover both the smaller scale of individual cores/YSOs (including all the evolutionary stages, as well as low- and high-mass regimes of star-formation), and the large galactic scale of the ISM (focussing on the fragmentation process of molecular clouds into filaments and on the impact of feedback from massive stars in the ISM). He is a member of the Herschel Gould Belt Survey, where he has worked on several projects that analyse the filamentary nature of the cold ISM and its relation with star formation.
