Abstract
How can we turn Python computations that currently run overnight into interactive workflows—with only a few lines of code?
In this talk, Raphael will share his experience contributing to the development of three FINOS-backed Python packages designed to simplify parallel and distributed computing: Scaler, a distributed task orchestrator; Parfun, which transparently parallelizes existing Python functions; and Pargraph, a distributed engine for graph-dependent computations.
Through practical examples, the workshop will demonstrate how these tools can be used to distribute workloads across multiple CPU cores and machines, with users routinely reporting speedups of up to 10× while requiring only minimal changes to existing code.
