Abstract
Planets orbiting stars are ubiquitous, as demonstrated by the planets discovered to date. With the pace of exoplanet discoveries still increasing thanks to multiple ground-based surveys such as HARPS, HARPS-N, CARMENES, and ESPRESSO, the exoplanet research is now moving towards the deep study and characterization of the atmospheres of the planets. In this talk I will present a few start-of-the-art techniques to extract and characterize the transmission spectra of transiting planets.
