Abstract
Thanks to increasingly precise and accurate experiments, we are currently living the so-called " precision cosmology" era. Cosmological parameters, that twenty years ago were known only within an order of magnitude, are now measured with percent precision. In this context, new challenges have emerged. Among them, understand the reason for some tensions between the estimation of parameters such as the local expansion rate, H_0. Indeed, we found more than 3 standard deviations from the value reported by the Planck Collaboration using the Cosmic Microwave background and its direct measurements using the geometric distance calibrations of Cepheids. In this seminar we will explore the current state of the art of this debate and investigate the role that Baryon Acoustic Oscillations can play.
