Abstract
In this paper, we present an overview of the software architecture designed for the ArmazoNes high Dispersion Echelle Spectrograph (ANDES), developed in preparation for the instrument Preliminary Design Review (PDR). We provide a quick overview of the control software, as it is already presented in detail in another paper of this Conference, outlining how it has been conceived to ensure reliable operation of a complex, highly distributed instrument such as ANDES. Then, we describe the suite of science-oriented software tools that will accompany ANDES and support its use by scientists. These include the Exposure Time Calculator, the Observation Preparation tools, and the Data Reduction Library functionalities that are crucial for efficient planning and for the systematic processing of raw data produced by the instrument.
