Abstract
γ Doradus (γ Dor) are late A and F-type stars pulsating with high order gravity modes (g-modes). Their rotation and pulsation frequencies are often of the same order. Hence, rotation is expected to affect significantly the characteristics of pulsations. Adopting the so-called traditional approximation of rotation to treat the Coriolis force, we explore the influence of rotation over the stability of γ Dor stellar models covering the mass range 1.2M☉ < M* < 2.5M☉. We investigate the effects of rotation on the pulsation parameters of γ Dor stars : period spacings, range of excited modes, theoretical instability strips.
