Abstract
We investigate the variation of the fine-structure constant alpha in symmetron models using N-body simulations in which the full spatial distribution of alpha at different redshifts has been calculated. In particular, we present simulated sky maps for the alpha variation, and the corresponding power spectrum. Our results show that in these models alpha has a dependence on lookback time which could be detected by a sufficiently accurate ELT-HIRES.
