Abstract
The search for exoplanets has allowed a better understanding of our solar system and opened a vast area of exploration to search for other worlds. During the last few years, the development of new instruments has allowed the increase of confirmed exoplanets, being around 800 by the radial velocity (RV) method, second only to that of transits. We present an algorithm designed in Python essentially for the spectroscopic analysis of stars with exoplanet candidates and also to detect and confirm exoplanets using the RV method. Through automated computational tools, the algorithm allows obtaining precision RV measurements of stars using CHIRON data from the CTIO/SMARTS 1.5 m telescope reaching a precision of up to 8.6 m s−1.
