Abstract
Git is an Open Source Distributed Version Control System originally developed by Linus Torvalds in order to manage the Linux kernel project. Git revolutionizes how we can manage and collaborate on code or any other text based format. In this presentation, we will understand why it is an essential tool for managing code or any other kind of text and how it can help with the organization of a project.
We'll start by delving into the fundamental concepts of git in order to understand how it works and what it is capable of. Then we will see how it can be used for collaboration and to help merge work from multiple parties. We will also explore how some of its features can help with understanding a project by having access to its history and how they can help with debugging.
