Abstract
We are living in a time in astronomy where big surveys are changing our knowledge of the Universe. In the next years, even bigger surveys are going to start their operation, one of which is 4MOST, that will begin operation in late 2022.
4MOST will be placed at VISTA telescope in Chile and is going to observe almost 30 million objects in 5 years over the full sky of the southern hemisphere.
In respect of Galactic archeology, 4MOST is going to revolutionise the knowledge of our Galaxy: this will be thankS to the observation of millionS of stars in different evolutionary stages all over the different Galactic components combined with the accuracy of position and proper motion provided by Gaia.
4MOST has already some big science cases set in stone from the consortium, but in a month time (18 of November) ESO will open the call to THE community to contribute with additional sciences proposals that can benefit from the 4MOST capability.
I will use the opportunity of this talk to introduce you to THE 4MOST potential, the Galactic Archeology sciences already covered by the consortium and how to apply for time as a community member.
