Abstract
The extinction law is fundamental to understanding the properties of interstellar dust, especially in high density cores that may potentially lead to the formation of stars. Using photometric data, deriving the extinction law comes down to a linear regression problem, but fitting a straight line to linearly distributed data turns out not be a simple task.
