This is a short demonstration of the Mozilla Hubs platform which will be used for some of the social events of ENAA. All the participants will be given links to one or more Hubs “rooms”.
Click the link (or paste it in your browser).
Once the page loads, you will see a page like the following
You are now in the lobby.
You can see what is inside the room and, if there is someone else there, you can listen to what’s going on and chat with the people inside the room. In this particular case, no one else is in the room, so there is a blue message saying that.
In Hubs, you do not need any special equipment to enter the rooms.
Click “Enter Room” in the red button.
You will be asked to choose your name and avatar.
Please, write your true name instead of a username, so everyone can easily recognize who you are.
NOTE: The name can only contain alphanumeric characters (no tildes or accents)
Feel free to click “Browse Avatars” and choose an avatar that you like.
When you’re ready, click “Accept”.
You can now set up your microphone. Click “Enter Now” when you’re ready.
Now that you entered the room, you can look and move around using the mouse and keyboard.
Try moving around the room using these controls.
You may notice that you can chat with other people in the room using your microphone (if it is not muted). When you move closer to them, you will be able to hear them better and when you move away, their sound will fade. You can also chat with other people inside the room by typing in the black box at the bottom.
