Abstract
The determination of the metallicity of M-dwarfs is of prime importance in the fields of galactic, stellar and planetary astronomy. M stars are the least studied galactic component regarding their fundamental parameters. Yet, they are the most numerous stars in the galaxy and contribute to most of its total (baryonic) mass. Therefore, it is urgent to make new studies in order to improve and expand our knowledge of them. In this work we present a study to test and improve the metallicity scale of Bonfils et al. (2005), A&A 442,635. We further test our results against other published calibrations and investigate the star-planet connection, especially the metallicity correlation at the bottom of the main sequence.
