Abstract
With a resolution of up to 100 000 and capable of operating in the 1-5 um domain, CRIRES is a unique facility for infrared spectroscopy. In this talk I review the results in the domain of precise infrared radial velocities (<10 m/s), now starting to unfold. I conclude with the lessons we learned so far and how can these be used when designing a dedicated infrared spectrograph.
