Abstract
Over the years, the search for extrasolar planetary systems accelerated. Over 550 planet hosts are known today, hosting more than 750 planets. Several previous studies have shown that stellar metallicity and mass have an influence on planet formation. But what exactly is their influence on the resulting planets and their properties? We studied the largest sample of stars with planets where the stellar parameters are all derived in the same way. This makes it possible to perform a uniform statistical analysis. We look into the correlations of these stellar properties with planetary properties. Understanding these correlations will put constraints on theories of planet formation and help us in our understanding of the formation processes. In this talk we will present our unique sample and the results of this analysis.
