Biographic Notes
Kora Muzic completed a PhD in Physics from the University of Cologne and Max Planck Institute for Radioastronomy (Germany) in 2008. Afterwards, she held postdoctoral positions at the Universities of Cologne (Germany), Toronto (Canada), Diego Portales (Chile), and the fellowship of the European Southern Observatory (Chile). She arrived to Portugal in 2017, first as an FCT Investigator and later as a resarcher at CENTRA (Universities of Lisbon and Porto). Since August 2023 she is an FCT CEEC Principal Investigator at IA and the Faculty of Science of the University of Lisbon.
Her research interests are in the area of low-mass stars and brown dwarfs, focusing on the processes of their formation. She is also involved in studies of formation and structure of young star clusters, protoplanetary disks around low-mass stars and brown dwarfs, and in searches of substellar companions to young stars. She participates in the development of the mid-infrared instrument METIS for the ELT.
