Paulo M. Sá is associate professor with habilitation in the Physics Department of the Faculty of Science and Technology of the University of Algarve. He obtained the degree of Master of Sciences in Physics and Mathematics at Moscow State University (Russia) in 1989; he completed his PhD in 1993 and the habilitation in 2007, both at Instituto Superior Técnico (Lisbon). He is a member of the IA since December 2021. Current research interests include cosmological models with dark energy and dark matter, primordial inflation, and alternative theories of gravitation. He is president of the Physics Department of the Faculty of Science and Technology of the University of Algarve.
