Understanding the nature of the faint radio-source population

Abstract
I will present two independent samples of extragalactic radio sources. The first sample is the low-frequency radio selected TOOT00 radio sources with flux density limit S151MHz ≳ 100 mJy and a median redshift z ~ 1.25. The second sample is the high-frequency radio selected SXDS radio sources with flux density limit S1.4GHz ≳ 2 mJy and a median redshift z ~ 1.1. Using multi-wavelength data in the optical, infrared and radio, I will present a comparison of their quantities in order to understand the nature of the faint radio-source population. I will explain why it is important to study faint radio sources, and what this study contributes to the already known picture of extragalactic radio sources and Active Galactic Nuclei.
